Qi Gong is a movement art based in Chinese medicine. In practice, we use gentle, rhythmic motions to create circulation within the body. This flow of blood and breath activates and cleanses our systems, gradually transforming stagnation and stimulating health. Qi Gong promotes the body’s natural self-healing capacity, and our classes are designed to enhance your understanding of movement as medicine.

Qi Gong Forms and Foundations covers the basic principles and practices you need to establish Qi Gong as an ally for your life and health. You can join at any point, as the curriculum will repeat throughout the year and anything you miss will return. Skill is developed through repetition, and we can learn something new or deepen our experience each time we revisit the basics.

Our eight-week foundation series will alternate with eight weeks exploring forms, so you will also have the opportunity to learn traditional Qi Gong sequences. We approach our classes with an emphasis on restoration, exploration and play. Classes are friendly to beginners and accessible to a range of physical abilities.

Please bring a mat or blanket if you have one and a water bottle. The room is often warm due to preceding hot yoga classes. Thursday evenings should be cooler than Mondays. I look forward to seeing you soon!

All classes can be purchased through Heart of the Valley Yoga. *You will need to create an account in order to buy online. You’re also welcome to arrive 10 minutes early and we will register you at the door!
